Our Story.

Hudson Compost was originally created by Ben Hunt Wan, Jude Joerger, and Max Schapiro, who were Hastings High School students passionate about making an impact on their community and environment. Recognizing that many residents found it challenging to compost at home, they started a curbside food scrap program in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, mimicking traditional trash and recycling services, but for compost.
